Body painting in the mursi tribe

A numbr of ancient tribes live in the Omo Valley region in southern Ethiopia. There are many tribes here called the Mursi Tribe.

In the image above, body painting is used, and this is something I would like to experiment with over the couse of my project. Trying over different shades and patterns on the body. This is a look that is obviously tribal, and with the right design this could be something that is easily reproducible on the catwalk.

 WOW the earrings!!! The Mursi Tribe are often seen with very large accessories, however, these earrings would steal away from the whole look. I have to consider the whole outfit including clothing, accessories and hair and make-up.

 This is an image of a young boy in the Mursi Tribe. Using nature to construct a head garment. This is an effective and cheap idea, that I would like to try out. Gathering up leaves and twigs to make my own head accessory!
